Transitions was created in between the seasons of summer and fall of 2023. The summer of 2023 was Earth’s hottest – creating and exacerbating major wildfires, drought, and air quality issues that affected much of the world. The multitude of colors in the painting are meant to personify the extreme heat, the early changing colors of the leaves due to changes in weather patterns, the rampant wildfires across the US, and the dampness of the extreme humidity. Seasons are a beautiful reminder of the passing of time, and can offer insights and physical evidence of our changing climate and weather patterns.
